From personal struggle to universal solution - how our journey led to Diariva
The Beginning
Hi, I'm Pooria Monfared, and this is the story of how Diariva came to be.
For several years, my wife and I managed our household finances using a complex Excel file. We tracked our income and expenses with different payment conditions, implemented complex formulas for fixed and variable costs, and maintained detailed financial records.
This system not only helped us mentally but also gave us a long-term financial perspective. We could see patterns, plan for the future, and make informed decisions about our money.
But here's the thing - managing all of this in Excel was time-consuming, error-prone, and required constant maintenance. We knew there had to be a better way.

We realized that many people were struggling with the same financial management challenges that we had solved for ourselves. They needed a solution that was:

The name carries deep personal meaning and reflects our journey
The Meaning Behind the Name
Diariva is formed from two parts:
Diar
In Persian, "Diar" means "childhood home" or "place of upbringing" - representing the foundation of our financial habits and values.
Iva
A modern suffix that combines "AI" (artificial intelligence) with a touch of innovation, representing our tech-forward approach to financial management.
Our Migration Story
Several years ago, we migrated from Iran to Germany. This journey wasn't just geographical - it was a complete transformation of our lives, including how we managed our finances.
The name "Diariva" symbolizes this path of our lives, where our childhood home (Diar) meets our new reality with modern technology (Iva). It represents the bridge between traditional values and innovative solutions.
Our financial management system played a significant role in our successful migration, helping us navigate the complexities of starting over in a new country. This experience inspired us to create Diariva - to help others who face similar challenges.
