Split a restaurant bill by item—with a receipt photo

We've all been there: one card pays, everyone owes something different, and nobody wants to do math. Receipt scan in Diariva Groups fixes that.

Split a restaurant bill by item—with a receipt photo

Why item-level splits matter

Equal splits feel unfair when someone ordered water and you had three courses. Restaurants rarely split bills per person—and paying back via bank transfer later only works if everyone agrees on the numbers. Item-level assignment matches what people actually consumed. Less resentment, fewer "I'll just pay extra to avoid the hassle" moments.

How receipt scan works

Take a photo of the receipt—in German, English, Persian, or many other languages. Diariva reads line items, quantities, and totals, then shows names translated to your app language. Three Cokes on the bill? Tap + twice for you and + once for your friend. Shared bread basket? Hit "Split equally" for that line.

Tip, tax, and service charges

Fees don't have to be averaged blindly. Split proportionally by each person's food share—the default—or equally if your group prefers that for tip. The payer is recorded automatically; balances update so everyone knows what they owe before anyone opens their banking app.

At the table

  • Snap the receipt while it's still on the table—lighting matters.
  • Select who's at dinner before assigning items.
  • Use proportional fee split when some people ordered much more.
  • Settle in the app when you're back home—or pay back on the spot.
